The Cape Otway Centre for Conservation Ecology (COCCE) accepts bookings subject to the following terms.

Validity

Tariffs are current at the time of publishing.   COCCE reserves the right to alter tariffs at any time.  

Currency, Deposits and Payments

All prices are in Australian Dollars (A$).   A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation and may be made by credit card, cheque or EFT.   The balance is payable 7 days prior to arrival date.   Please do not send credit card details by e-mail for security reasons.   We will be happy to take your details over the phone.   Additional expenses (eg. dining, wine etc.) will be invoiced at the conclusion of your stay.

  Cancellation by the guest

We do appreciate that sometimes people have to cancel their bookings.   If you are able to give us more than 30 days notice, we will refund 50% of your deposit.   There is no refund for less than 30 days notice, however, we are happy to hold your deposit for a future booking within six months of cancelling.     No refunds will be made if you depart the Centre prematurely for any reason after arrival.   Refunds will be at the discretion of COCCE if you are involuntarily forced to leave early. (We recommend travel and cancellation insurance).

Cancellation by The Cape Otway Centre

There may be times, such as during bushfires, that The Cape Otway Centre is unable to operate safely.  It is in the interest of safety that COCCE reserves the right to cancel any booking.   If COCCE cancels a confirmed booking within two weeks of scheduled dates you may choose between alternative dates (of equal value) or a full refund.   COCCE is not responsible and you release and forever abandon any claim you may have against COCCE in relation to any incidental expenses you may have incurred as a result of your booking such as visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or loss of enjoyment etc.  

Booking amendments

If you wish to change your booking in any way, the following fees will apply:

1. Amend booking dates:   If the request is received by COCCE at least 30 days prior to your original arrival date, amendments will depend on availability and there will be no charge.  If the request is received by COCCE within 30 days of your original arrival date, amendments will depend on availability and there will be an administration charge of $50 per room.

General responsibilities

The Cape Otway Centre is dedicated to the conservation and understanding of ecological systems, and is located in a wilderness environment.

In confirming your booking you are accepting the authority of the COCCE staff especially in relation to responsible conduct in the Australian bush.   You acknowledge that following COCCE’s guidelines will improve your personal safety, minimise your environmental impact and increase opportunities for wildlife observation.

Guest Registration Form

All Cape Otway Centre guests are required to complete a Guest Registration Form upon arrival.   Please note that signing the form is a pre-requisite of staying at the Centre.   The wording of this form follows:

  “ I/We acknowledge that The Cape Otway Centre is part of a wilderness environment which has many risks (and rewards) not normally encountered in an urban environment.   I/We acknowledge that we have come to the Centre to experience that environment and agree to take all reasonable steps to avoid injury while at the Centre and in the surrounding environment, both to me/us and to all members of the group accompanying me/us.   I/We release the Centre from any claim I/we may have against the Centre for any such injury and I/we indemnify the Centre against any claims made against it by any person in relation to any such injury”.

 By confirming a booking to stay at The Caqpe Otway Centre you are agreeing, on behalf of yourself and your travelling companions to abide by this.
