As a social enterprise of the Conservation Ecology Centre the Ecolodge’s success is vital for the organisation’s continuing efforts to fulfill its vision of a safe and natural future for Australia’s precious wildlife. The Great Ocean Ecolodge is frequently profiled by Australian and international universities as a case study in Ecotourism excellence and is accredited at the highest level both in Australia and internationally.

RIGHT-tourism is an initiative which encourages tourism operators to achieve best practice, promoting Responsible, Informed, Guilt–free and Humane Tourism to both the travel industry and the wider public.

Australian Geographic Society, Conservationist of the Year Award, 2007
In 2007 the Australian Geographic Society bestowed the Conservationist of the Year Award in recognition of our commitment to the future of Australian wildlife.
Prime Minister’s Award for Environmentalist of the Year, 2005
In 2005 we were awarded the very prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Environmentalist of the Year by the Banksia Foundation. Lizzie was the first woman and the youngest ever recipient of this award.
